Mistra AC failure

Alright, I'm pulling my hair out! My 2016 Hyundai Mistra with a gasoline engine's throwing a fit. The AC's gone kaput! Error code's popping up, no cold air, the AC won't even kick on, and the speedo's flashing a warning. Anyone else run into this nightmare? I'm suspecting the AC control unit is toast, but wanted to check if anyone has had similar symptoms.

Summary of the thread

A 2016 Hyundai Mistra is experiencing AC failure, with error codes, no cold air, and a flashing speedometer warning. The suspected cause is a defective AC control unit. After checking refrigerant levels and the compressor clutch, which appeared fine, it was confirmed by a workshop that the control unit was indeed faulty. The solution involved professional diagnostics and replacement of the control unit, resolving the issue.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hmm, that sounds familiar. I have a Mistra too, though I can't recall the exact year right now. I had similar issues with the AC a while back. Error in memory, AC not cooling, and a light on the dashboard. Did you check the refrigerant level or the compressor clutch? Could be a simple fix, but those symptoms could point to something more serious.

Yeah, I checked the refrigerant levels, they seem fine, and I think the compressor clutch is engaging, but I'm not entirely sure. What was the 'more serious' thing in your case? Was it the control unit, and if so, how did you figure that out?

In my case, the control unit was indeed defective. I initially thought it was something minor, but after checking the usual suspects, I took it to a workshop. They ran diagnostics and confirmed it was the control unit. Honestly, I don't have the equipment to diagnose it myself. If you've checked the basics, I'd suggest doing the same.

Thanks for the insight! Looks like I'll bite the bullet and get it to a mechanic. It's probably cheaper than buying all the testing tools. The workshop confirmed that the air conditioning control unit was defective, which makes sense. Cost me around 980€ for the repair, but at least I have a working AC again!
