Mistra Oil Temperature Warning Light
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Hyundai Mistra owner is experiencing an oil temperature warning light and an error code related to the engine oil temperature sensor. The issue may also involve the oil pressure warning lamp. A suggested cause is a faulty or corroded connector on the oil temperature sensor. A recommended solution is to inspect and clean the sensor's connector or have it replaced by a professional if necessary.

Hmm, interesting. When you say 'similar', was it the exact same warning lights and error code? And which cable/plug exactly are you referring to? There are a few around that area.

Yeah, pretty much the same symptoms. Oil temp light, error code for the sensor. It was the connector directly on the oil temperature sensor itself. Honestly, I just took it to the workshop, they replaced the connector, and that fixed it. Cost me around 95€. Might be worth checking out.

Okay, that's good info, thanks. I'll double-check that specific connector and probably take it to a shop if I can't figure it out. Sounds like the cable/plug connection is indeed the root cause. Appreciate the help!

I had something similar happen on my Mistra. I'd check the cable and plug connection to the sensor. That's usually the culprit. Those connections can get corroded or loose over time. Give them a good look and maybe try cleaning them up with some electrical contact cleaner.
