Mobi key battery low warning

My 2017 Fiat Mobi, gasoline engine, with 155343 km is showing a 'key battery low' warning. Keyless access is non-functional, an error is stored, and unlocking/locking aren't working as expected. I suspect the key battery. Anyone seen this?

I own a Fiat Mobi and had something similar recently. Was it gradual, or sudden? Mine started intermittent before failing. Have you tried the spare key to rule out car issues?
