Mobilio AC failure

Hey, my 2019 Honda Mobilio with a gasoline engine is giving me headaches! The AC just decided to quit. It's not cooling at all, and the AC system doesn't even seem to switch on when I press the button. I've checked the obvious stuff like fuses, but no luck. Could it be a refrigerant leak? It has 128770 km. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

The 2019 Honda Mobilio's air conditioning system is not cooling, and the AC system doesn't activate when the button is pressed. Initial checks, such as fuses, have been done without success. A possible cause could be a faulty pressure switch, which prevents the compressor from engaging. It is recommended to consult a qualified technician for professional diagnostics, as the issue might involve complex components like the pressure switch or individual valves in the AC system.

Greetings. The symptoms you describe are indicative of a system malfunction. I had a similar issue with my Opel Astra a few years back. The climate control was inoperative. Did you by any chance check the pressure switch? A faulty pressure switch will prevent the compressor from engaging, and thereby disable the entire cooling system. Also, how is the blower motor working?

Thanks for the quick reply! Pressure switch, huh? I haven't checked that specifically. Where exactly is that located, and is there a way to test it without special tools? Blower motor seems to be working fine; air is blowing, just not cold.

Given that the blower motor is functioning correctly, the issue is likely not related to that component. The pressure switch is typically located in the high-pressure line, possibly near the condenser. Without proper diagnostic equipment, it will be challenging to assess its functionality. Considering your description, it is time to visit a qualified technician for professional diagnostics. In my case, it was individual valves in the air conditioning system.

Okay, I appreciate the advice! I suspected it might be something more complicated than I can handle myself. I'll take it to a workshop and get them to check the pressure switch and the valves, and cross my fingers it's not too expensive. Thanks again!
