Mobilio diesel engine issues
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Honda Mobilio diesel with 62,000 km is experiencing a warning light, reduced engine power, smoke on acceleration, and a strong exhaust smell. The issue may be related to the diesel particulate filter (DPF) or low exhaust pressure. A faulty exhaust back pressure sensor was identified as the cause, leading to emission control problems. After diagnostics confirmed the sensor defect, it was repaired, resolving the issue.

Interesting, a faulty sensor? I hadn't thought of that. How did you figure out it was the sensor, and what emission control problems did it cause? I don't think it's doing DPF regeneration constantly, or at least I can't tell.

I ran diagnostics and the sensor gave erratic readings. The ECU got false data, messing with fuel mixture and DPF cycles. Get it checked by someone with diagnostic tools. Sounds like the same problem.

Okay, thanks. I'll have the workshop check the exhaust back pressure sensor. Hopefully, that's it. They confirmed the exhaust back pressure sensor was defective. Repair cost 245€, but it's fixed!

Sounds like a DPF issue. My old Peugeot had similar symptoms. It was a faulty exhaust back pressure sensor causing emission control problems. Is it constantly trying DPF regeneration?
