Mobilio high fuel consumption and hissing sound
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Honda Mobilio owner reported high fuel consumption, a check engine light, and a loud hissing sound when accelerating, suspecting an air intake system leak. The issue was identified as a leak in the intake hose, confirmed through a smoke test at a workshop. Replacing the intake hose resolved the problem, normalizing fuel consumption and eliminating the hissing sound and check engine light.

I haven't checked every single one, no. Where exactly should I be looking for those hoses? Is that near the intake manifold?

Yes, near the intake manifold is where the air intake hoses are located. Look for any splits or cracks, especially where the hoses connect. Honestly, chasing leaks can be a pain. If you're not super confident, might be worth getting a mechanic to do a smoke test. I ended up taking my Astra to a workshop, they found it pretty quickly.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to a workshop, smoke test confirmed a leak in the intake hose. Replaced it, cost about 100€. Fuel consumption back to normal, hissing gone, check engine light off. Appreciate the help.

Sounds familiar. Had similar symptoms – higher fuel consumption and check engine light – with my old Opel Astra after about 80000 km. Turned out to be a cracked hose between the turbocharger and the throttle body. Have you checked all the hoses for cracks or loose connections?
