Spaghetti wiring, haha, I get that! Where exactly should I be looking for the harness? Is it easy to get to, or do I need to dismantle half the dashboard?

The harness is behind the radio unit itself. Honestly, unless you're handy with that sort of thing, I'd suggest getting a pro to look at it. Could be a loose connection, could be a fried display. Mine ended up being the display, cost a bomb to fix, unfortunately. Best take it to the workshop.

Thanks for the advice! Sounds like I'm heading to the workshop then. They quoted me 725€, so fingers crossed it fixes the problem. Appreciate the heads up!

Sounds familiar! I've got a Modus too. Had a similar thing happen – radio just died. Check the wiring harness behind the head unit. Renault wiring can be a bit like spaghetti sometimes.
