Modus Automatic Transmission Problems

My 2005 Renault Modus with a gasoline engine is acting up. At 114755 km, the auto 'box is shifting poorly. The tranny light's on, shifts are abnormal, and sometimes it goes into limp mode. My local mechanic thinks it's undervoltage. Has anyone seen this?

Sounds familiar. I've got a Modus too, and had similar weirdness with the autobox. Was the undervoltage causing other electrical issues?

Yeah, I'm getting some other funky readings, like the dash lights flickering. Did you have to replace the whole transmission?

Nah, thankfully didn't need a new 'box. My mechanic checked the error codes and replaced the oil; they said it was worn out. After that, everything was back to normal. Still, I recommend checking it out in a workshop.

That's helpful. Replacing the oil fixed the implausible shifting behavior in the auto transmission! Cost 240€, but it's sorted.
