Modus check engine light air valve issue

I'm having a weird issue with my 2010 Renault Modus, it's the gasoline engine version. The check engine light keeps popping up. I think it might be related to the air valve. I suspect a defective hose connection between the pump and the valve. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm at 142083 km. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I had a similar problem with my Modus. Check all your vacuum hoses, especially around the throttle body and air intake. A vacuum leak can cause all sorts of weird engine behavior and trigger that light. It could be something simple like a cracked or loose hose.

Thanks for the quick reply! When you say vacuum hoses, are we talking about the small ones connected to the air supply? And how did you eventually solve the issue? Was it definitely a hose, and was it easy to spot?

Yep, those small hoses are the ones. In my case, it was a split hose that was hard to see at first. Honestly, I ended up taking it to a workshop. They diagnosed it pretty quickly with a smoke test. Probably best to get it checked professionally.

Okay, thanks a lot for the info! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. It was indeed a defective hose connection from the pump to the valve. Cost me 175€ to get it sorted. At least it's running smoothly now!
