Modus electric seat fault

My 2010 Renault Modus with a diesel engine is showing a fault with the passenger electric seat. An error is stored, and the seat won't adjust. Mileage is 246456 km. I suspect it's related to the battery, as it's been heavily discharged lately. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had a similar issue with my Modus power seats. First, check the seat wiring harness under the seat, as it can get loose or damaged. Also, inspect the seat switch. Sometimes contact cleaner helps. Has the car battery been checked?

Thanks for the input. Did you also have an error code stored? I checked the fuses, and they seem fine. I will check the seat wiring when I have time. What was the battery voltage like when you had the problem?

Yes, there was an error code, though I can't remember the number. My battery was completely flat and wouldn't even turn over. If your battery's been playing up, that's the likely culprit. It could be the seat motor, but I'd recommend visiting your local mechanic so they can test the battery properly.

Thanks, the battery was indeed the problem. I replaced it, but the error remained. I had to bring it to a local shop that cleared the code and recalibrated the seat. It cost me 290€. Everything works now.
