Modus Intake Manifold Issue

My 2010 Renault Modus diesel with 201466 km is jerking during acceleration, and the check engine light is on. Error codes point to an intake manifold problem. Engine power is reduced, it sometimes stalls at idle, runs rough, and there's a strong exhaust smell. I suspect a leak, maybe scorching. Similar problems anyone?

I had similar symptoms with my Modus. The error memory also indicated something with the intake manifold. The car felt like it was about to stall, and the engine struggled to maintain a steady RPM at idle.

Interesting, could you provide more detail as to what the diagnosis was and how the problem was solved? I'm trying to get a good handle on the issue before taking it in.

The diagnosis pointed to the intake manifold gasket leaking. Given the symptoms you described, the manifold pressure is likely affected. I went straight to a workshop to get it checked properly. Based on my experience, you should do the same.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I feared as much and will schedule a visit to my workshop as soon as possible. In my case it turned out that the intake manifold was defective, and the repair including labor and parts amounted to 1180€.
