Modus washer fluid warning persists
Summary of the thread
The issue with the 2007 Renault Modus involves a persistent 'washer fluid low' warning on the dashboard, despite the reservoir being full, and the windshield washer system not functioning. Possible causes include a faulty or clogged washer motor or a malfunctioning sensor. Suggested solutions include checking the washer motor, which is typically located near the reservoir, or consulting a professional for diagnosis and repair. Ultimately, the problem was resolved by diagnosing an error in the system and refilling the fluid, costing 25€.

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly is the washer motor located? Is it easy to access? I'm not the most mechanically gifted, but I'm willing to give it a shot before taking it to a garage.

It's usually attached to the washer fluid reservoir. You might be able to get to it from under the wheel arch, but it can be a bit fiddly. Honestly, if you're not comfortable working on it, I'd recommend getting it checked out by a professional. It could be a simple fix, like a faulty sensor, but best to be sure. I recall I paid 25€ back then.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I think I'll take it to a workshop. I'd rather be safe than sorry. Turns out, the error was stored in the error memory and the fluid level was indeed too low. It was diagnosed and refilled immediately. Cost me 25€, just as you predicted!

I had a similar problem with my Modus. The 'washer fluid low' light would come on intermittently, even when full, and eventually the washer stopped working altogether. Have you checked the washer motor itself? It might be faulty or clogged.
