Thanks for the input. I did check the sensors, but all seem to be reporting values. Is it possible for a sensor to report some data, but still be faulty and corrupt the signal?

Absolutely! That's exactly what happened with my Volvo. The sensor was sending some data, but it was erratic and unreliable, enough to confuse the ABS module. Given your mileage, it might be worth double-checking the wiring and connections to the sensors as well. But honestly, with a control unit error code, it's likely best to get it checked out by a workshop. It cost me around 1000€ to fix the issue.

Appreciate the confirmation and advice. After further diagnostics, the affected control unit was indeed defective. The repair cost was exactly as you said, 1000€. Thanks again for sharing your experience; it helped me narrow down the problem.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue on my old Volvo V70, though it manifested a bit differently. The symptoms were similar - ABS light, traction control going haywire - but it turned out to be a faulty ABS sensor on one of the wheels throwing everything off. Did you check the individual wheel speed sensors before concluding it's the control unit?
