Mokka Electric Window Problems, Fix Tips & Repair Costs
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Vauxhall Mokka Electric is experiencing power window issues, suspected to be related to the window regulator. However, similar problems in other EVs have been linked to faulty window switches, debris in the window track, or window motor issues, rather than regulator failures. The presence of a humming sound when pressing the switch suggests an electrical issue, possibly with the switches or wiring. Cleaning the window tracks is recommended as a preliminary step before seeking professional repair.

Thanks for sharing that info! Mine's acting up on both front windows, they're super sluggish and sometimes only work after pressing the button multiple times. Yeah, I can hear a faint humming when pressing the switch. My Mokka's done 63937 KM and just had its service last month, so it's pretty frustrating to deal with this now. Good to know about your switch issue though, definitely cheaper than replacing the whole regulator! Did your mechanic mention any other common causes for this kind of problem?

Hey again! Yeah, I totally get your frustration. Actually, when I brought my Corsa-e in, the mechanic did mention a few other potential causes. In my case, while it turned out to be just the switch, he said these issues could also be caused by debris in the window track or problems with the window motor, both of which are way more common than actual regulator failures in these newer models. Since you mentioned you can hear that humming sound, that's actually a good sign! When my windows were acting up, I had that same symptom. The mechanic told me that if it was a regulator problem, you typically wouldn't hear anything at all. Plus, the fact that both front windows are having the same issue makes me lean even more toward it being something electrical, like the switches or maybe a wiring issue. Quick tip, while you're waiting to get it checked out, try cleaning around the window tracks. There might be some dirt buildup causing that sluggishness. Didn't work for me, but hey, worth a shot! Let me know what you end up finding out, always good to know for future reference with these EVs!

Thanks so much for all that detailed info! That's really helpful to know about the humming sound being a good sign, definitely makes me feel better about it not being the regulator. I'll definitely try cleaning those tracks first before heading to the shop. You've actually saved me a lot of worry here! I've got an appointment at my local Vauxhall dealer next week, but I'll keep you posted on what they find. Thanks again for taking the time to help out, it's great to get advice from someone who's been through something similar with their EV!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2020 Vauxhall Corsa-e (some experience with EVs). The power windows started acting up, super annoying! Took it to my local workshop and turned out it was just a faulty window switch. Fixed it for about 130 Euro, and everything's been working smoothly since then. The repair was pretty quick, only took them a couple hours. Just so I can help better, which windows are affected on your Mokka? And are they completely dead or just working intermittently? Also, can you still hear the motor trying to work when you press the switch?
