Mokka incorrect fuel composition error

My 2016 Vauxhall Mokka diesel is throwing an 'incorrect fuel composition' error. The check engine light is on, and the engine stalls at idle. Error memory shows the same fault. Mileage is at 213580 km. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone encountered this?

I also drive a Mokka, and this sounds awfully familiar. Did you check the fuel filter? It may be clogged, restricting fuel flow and causing the engine to misread the fuel composition. Imagine a garden hose with a kink – the water still comes out, but not as smoothly or strongly.

The fuel filter was changed recently. I suspect the fuel composition sensor. Did your issue present with the same stalling symptom and error code?

Yes, the stalling was identical. And yes, same error code regarding fuel composition. Given you've ruled out the filter, it might be wise to consult a workshop. It sounds like the sensor itself or its wiring, which can be tricky to diagnose without proper equipment. It's like trying to find a needle in a haystack without a magnet.

Thanks for the confirmation. I took it to a workshop, and it was indeed a defective connector on the fuel composition sensor, as suspected. Repair cost was 95€. I appreciate the advice.
