Interesting. What sensor was it on your Astra? And what kind of 'dodgy connection' are we talking about – loose, corroded, broken cable?

I honestly can't remember which sensor it was, but the mechanic said the plug was a bit loose and the cable was frayed. He just cleaned it up and secured the connection. If I were you, I would get it to the workshop to avoid further damage to the engine.

Thanks for the tip! You were spot on – it was a defective cable/plug connection on the fuel pressure sensor! Cost me 95€ to fix. No more engine misfire!

Sounds frustrating. I had similar issues with my old Opel Astra, though it was a petrol engine. Check engine light, rough running... turned out to be a dodgy connection to one of the sensors. Could be a simple fix.
