Thanks! I haven't replaced it yet, wanted to see if it's a common thing before I started fiddling with the key. You reckon that's definitely the battery, or could it be something else?

Well, it was the battery in my case. The key fobs are pretty sensitive, and if the battery's on its way out, they start acting up. Of course, it could be something else, but battery replacement is the cheapest and easiest thing to try first. Otherwise, you might need to go to a workshop.

Cheers for the advice! Replaced the battery, and that seems to have sorted it. Cost me 37€ for a new battery and someone to fit it, but all good now.

Yep, had similar issues with my Mondeo key fob. Keyless entry went haywire, and I was getting the same error message. First thing to check is the battery type in your key fob. Usually, it's a CR2032 or something similar. Have you tried replacing it yet?
