Monza Temperature Sensor Error and AC Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Chevrolet Monza owner reported an error message on the speedometer and a non-functioning air conditioning system. An OBD2 scan indicated a temperature sensor heat exchanger error. Possible causes include a sensor malfunction or a coolant leak affecting the cooling system. A suggestion was made to check the sensor calibration and wiring, but ultimately, it was determined that the air conditioning control unit was defective, requiring professional repair.

Thanks for the suggestion! I haven't checked the sensor calibration specifically, but I did give the wiring a quick look and didn't see anything obviously loose or damaged. How exactly do you calibrate a sensor like that? Is it something I can do myself, or does it require special equipment?

Calibrating that type of sensor usually requires a specialized tool to read the correct values and adjust it accordingly. Given the AC issue and the error message, and recalling a similar issue on a friend's car, it does sound like the air conditioning control unit is defective. In that case, it's best to take it to a workshop to diagnose the issue properly.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a local mechanic, and you were right – it was the air conditioning control unit. Apparently, it was causing the temperature sensor to throw an error. The total repair cost was 980€. Appreciate the help!

That sounds tricky. The error code definitely points to the temperature sensor, but the AC not working suggests it might be more complex. I had a similar issue with an older car where a faulty sensor was throwing off the entire system. Have you tried checking the sensor calibration or even just visually inspecting the wiring around the sensor? Sometimes it's just a loose connection.
