Movano Injection System Issue

My 2019 Renault Movano, diesel engine, is playing up. Done 229304 km, and I reckon there's a problem with the injection system. Fuel consumption has shot up, and the engine power feels weak. It even stalls when idling, which is terrifying at junctions! Plus, it throws out smoke when I accelerate. I've checked for air leaks, but can't find anything. I suspect the petrol system, but I'm no mechanic, any ideas?

That sounds rough! I had similar issues with my Movano, though I've not seen that much smoke. Has it been like it for a while? I think the System could be the cause of your trouble. Has the performance been bad across the board?

Yes, it's been gradually getting worse over the last few weeks. When you say "System", what exactly are you referring to? Is there any particular component that I should be looking at? Anything obviously broken, or do I need some special diagnostic tool?

I am no professional, but the same exact thing happened to me, and I think it was related to a cable or plug. Best to bring it in to someone you trust.

You were spot on with the cable/plug connection being defective! Took it to the workshop, and the guy there found a loose connection in the injection system. A quick fix (cost about 95€), and it's running like new again! Fuel consumption is back to normal, power's restored, no more stalling, and the smoke's gone!
