MR2 AC control unit failure

My 2002 Toyota MR2 with a gasoline engine is having AC issues. 60362 km on the clock. AC doesn't cool, warning light's on, and it won't even switch on. Error memory says compressor failure. Think it's the AC control unit. Anyone seen this before?

Yeah, used an OBD reader. Showed an error pointing to the compressor. Did yours throw the same code? Trying to figure out if it's definitely the control unit before I start replacing parts.

It might be worth your while to have a qualified technician take a look. I'd recommend taking it to a trustworthy auto AC repair shop. In the end, it was indeed diagnosed as a faulty AC control unit, requiring replacement. The automotive cooling system can be tricky to diagnose sometimes.
