MR2 emergency call system failure

Hi, I have a 2007 Toyota MR2 with a gasoline engine and 70371 km on the clock. The emergency call system seems to have gone kaput. I'm getting an error stored in the error memory and an error message, plus a warning light in the speedometer. I suspect it might be a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone run into this before?

Hey, I’ve experienced something similar with my MR2. Although mine's not the same year, the telematics system threw a fit. Do you have any diagnostic codes? Wondering if it's a control module issue or maybe something with the SOS signal itself. Was really frustrating.

Good question. I haven’t pulled the diagnostic codes yet, but I can do that. Where did you find the source of the issue on your car?

I traced it back to a faulty connection in the telematics module, causing call failures. If you don't have the gear, I'd suggest getting a workshop to take a look. It was a pain to get to. Cost me some money, but worth it to be safe. I recommend checking the wiring before replacing the module.

Thanks! I'll start by checking the connections and grabbing those diagnostic codes. I appreciate the advice. It ended up costing 95€ to fix after a visit to the garage; they re-seated a loose connector.
