MR2 Power Window Reset

Hey, I've got a 2005 Toyota MR2 with a gasoline engine. Just replaced the battery, and now the power windows are dead! The error memory says it's a window regulator initialization problem. Needs a window reset, apparently. Anyone seen this before? Kinda worried.

Sounds like the window regulator lost its data after the battery swap. Common in newer cars. Regulator needs initializing, usually with a specific window movement sequence or a diagnostic tool. Any error codes related to the window regulators?

Thanks! Yeah, the diagnostic tool mentioned a window regulator initialization issue, but no specific sequence. Can I fix this without a pro diagnostic tool, or am I stuck going to a shop?

The error codes confirm it's a loss of window regulator adaptation. Some cars let you re-initialize manually by holding the window switch in certain positions, but the 2005 MR2 often needs a diagnostic tool to recalibrate. Trying random stuff could damage the system. I'd suggest a qualified technician.

Appreciate the advice. Looks like a shop visit was needed. You were right, it was a window regulator adaptation thing. They plugged it into the computer and reset it all. Cost 290€, but at least it's fixed. Thanks again!
