MR2 Turn Signal Lamp Malfunction

Hi, I've got a 2001 Toyota MR2 with a gasoline engine. My turn signal lamp is malfunctioning. There's an error stored, a message on the speedometer, and the light is faulty. Mileage is 48487 km. I suspect a bad cable or plug. Any ideas?

Hey, I had a similar issue with my MR2. Sounds the same. Did you check the flasher relay? It controls the blinking. Sometimes they fail. Also, have you tried replacing the bulb? Sometimes it's that simple.

Thanks! Could you tell me where the flasher relay is? I don't know much about the electrics. Also, is there a specific bulb I should use?

No worries! The flasher relay is usually under the dash, near the steering column. Your owner's manual should have a diagram. The bulb is probably a standard one, but check the manual for the exact type. Honestly, if you're not comfortable with electrical stuff, take it to a workshop. It cost me around 95€ to get it sorted. Could save you some trouble.

Thanks for the help! I'll check the manual. Given the complexities, I agree a workshop is best. The repair cost helps. Thanks again!
