Multifunction Steering Wheel Issue

Error memory does show an error related to the multifunction steering wheel. What exactly should I be looking for when checking the steering column and control module?

Okay, if there's an error code, that's helpful. Visually inspect the wiring harness where it enters the steering column for any frayed or broken wires. Also, check the connections to the control module itself – unplug them and look for corroded or bent pins. If you're not comfortable doing this, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. In my case, it was a damaged wire inside the steering wheel itself. Needed a replacement part. A workshop should be able to diagnose it properly.

Big thanks for your help! Just got it back from the workshop. They found a defective cable connection in the steering wheel, just like you suspected. Cost me 95€ to fix. All good now!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar electrical fault with my multifunction steering on an older Renault Megane. It could be a connectivity problem with the control module that manages the steering wheel functions. Have you checked the error memory? Sometimes it throws a code that points directly to the issue. It's also worth checking the steering column itself for any obvious damage to the wiring.
