Murano diesel injection malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Nissan Murano diesel is experiencing increased fuel consumption, reduced engine power, stalling at idle, and smoke from the exhaust upon acceleration. The suspected cause is a defective cable or plug connection. A suggestion to check the mass airflow (MAF) sensor connection led to the discovery of a corroded connector, which was cleaned and re-secured, resolving the issue.

Indeed, the MAF sensor did cross my mind. Could you elaborate on the specific symptoms you experienced and whether you recall any diagnostic codes associated with the faulty MAF sensor?

Mine was behaving almost exactly as you describe. I didn't pull the codes myself, I just took it straight to the workshop when the stalling got too frequent. They said it was the MAF sensor connection.

Following your advice, I examined the MAF sensor connection. A corroded connector was the culprit. A cleaning and re-securing of the connection, plus dielectric grease, has fixed it. The repair was 95€! Thank you for steering me in the right direction.

I've seen similar issues with my Murano. Have you checked the mass airflow sensor? A faulty MAF sensor can cause all those symptoms. Make sure the connections are clean and secure.
