N300 AC Compressor Failure

I had a similar problem with my N300. The A/C just quit. Does it feel like the compressor is trying to kick on, or is it completely dead? Check the relay switch, if you haven't already. Any odd noises before it died, like a hissing sound?

It feels utterly lifeless; no sign of engagement from the compressor. I haven't checked the relay switch. Where is it located? No strange noises. The failure was sudden and complete.

A complete shutdown is telling. The relay switch location should be in the owner's manual, but often it's under the hood in the fuse box. Since you hear no hissing, a slow refrigerant leak is less likely. I'd suggest a workshop visit, though. My issue turned out to be a faulty compressor and cost around 240€ to repair. They diagnosed undervoltage, which caused the failure.

I will schedule an appointment with my mechanic to inspect the A/C compressor and the relay switch. Hopefully, the repair costs won't exceed my budget.
