N400 Multifunction Steering Wheel Failure

I'm seriously pulling my hair out here! I've got a 2022 Chevrolet N400, gasoline engine, and lately, the multifunction steering wheel has completely died on me. Like, nada, zip, nothing works! I took it to get vehicle diagnostics thinking it was a fuse but they said there's some error stored in the memory. Anyone else experienced this craziness? HELP!

Summary of the thread

The multifunction steering wheel on a 2022 Chevrolet N400 stopped working entirely, leading to a diagnostic check that revealed an error stored in the vehicle's memory. The issue was suspected to be an electrical fault, specifically a defective cable connection within the steering wheel or column. After consulting a certified workshop, it was confirmed that a loose cable in the steering wheel was the cause, which was subsequently repaired.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Regarding the issue with your 2022 Chevrolet N400's multifunction steering wheel, the stored error code suggests an electrical fault. Have you noticed any other electrical abnormalities in conjunction with the steering wheel malfunction, such as erratic behavior from the lights or infotainment system? Is there any history of modifications or aftermarket installations that might have affected the vehicle's electrical system?

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! No weird electrical stuff happening, just the steering wheel. Also, I haven't done any mods or added anything aftermarket. To clarify, are you thinking it's definitely an electrical thing in the steering column itself?

Given that there are no other electrical anomalies and no aftermarket modifications, and you indicated the error is specific to the steering wheel controls, the most probable cause is indeed a defective cable connection within the steering wheel or steering column. While it might be tempting to attempt a DIY repair, I strongly recommend consulting with a certified workshop for a proper diagnosis and repair, as working with steering components can be hazardous.

Thanks so much for confirming my fears, haha. I took it to the shop today and they checked the cable connections like you suggested. Turns out a cable had come loose in the steering wheel, just like you said! They fixed it for 95€! Thanks for the help!
