NBox Turbo Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Honda NBox owner experienced issues with the check engine light, reduced power, poor engine response, whistling and hissing noises during acceleration, stalling at idle, and increased fuel consumption. The initial suspicion was a defective actuator valve. Another individual suggested a boost leak in the turbo system, recommending checking hoses and connections. Ultimately, the problem was identified as a defective electrical bypass valve, which was repaired, resolving the issues.

Thanks for the quick reply! I did check the hoses, nothing obvious jumped out at me, but I'm no mechanic. You really think it's just a leak? I was leaning toward a defective electrical bypass valve. Did yours throw any codes when it happened?

Yeah, it could be the bypass valve, but those symptoms... I'd bet money something is leaking. Mine threw a code related to boost control, and the shop found a tiny crack in one of the turbo hoses. Honestly, with all those symptoms, especially the stalling, it's probably best to get it to a workshop.

Appreciate the advice! The electrical bypass valve was defective. Cost me 250€ to get it fixed, but she’s running like new now. Thanks again!

Whoa, sounds rough! I had something similar happen with my NBox a while back. Whistling and hissing sounds point to a boost leak somewhere in the turbo system. Check all your hoses and connections first. Could be a cracked hose or a loose clamp. Is it worse when the engine is cold?
