Interesting. So, you think a discharged battery could really knock out the whole alarm system like that? Is there a way to test it or am I better off just replacing the battery?

Yes, in my case it was the auxiliary battery. It might be a good idea to get it checked by a workshop, you don't want to make things worse. This should be a pretty standard job.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on. The auxiliary battery was indeed discharged due to ageing. Replacement, error memory cleared, and all is well. Cost me 330€, but at least it's sorted.

I had a similar issue with my Nemo. It sounds like your auxiliary battery might be the culprit. These small batteries often fail due to age, causing all sorts of weird electrical gremlins.
