Nissan Crew automatic transmission implausible shifting

My 2007 Nissan Crew with a gasoline engine is having transmission issues at 133242 km. The automatic transmission shifts strangely, and the transmission light comes on and off. It sometimes acts like it's in emergency mode. Could low hydraulic fluid cause this? The level seems okay, but I'm not sure where to start.

I had a similar problem with my Crew. Could undervoltage be the cause? It messed up my automatic transmission with similar symptoms. Did you check your battery voltage and alternator output?

Undervoltage? I haven't checked that. How much of a voltage drop would cause these transmission problems? Were your symptoms exactly the same – erratic shifting, indicator light, and emergency mode?

Yeah, it was undervoltage. The car went into some kind of protection mode, which messed with the transmission. I had all three symptoms you described. I'd suggest getting the charging system checked out before doing anything else to the transmission.

Thanks, that's helpful. I'll get the charging system checked. It was undervoltage, and it cost me around 240€ to repair.
