Nissan Latio DPF Issues

Hey, I've got a 2006 Nissan Latio with a diesel engine and I'm experiencing some DPF issues. The car has 235822 km on it. Getting a 'diesel particulate filter exhaust pressure too low' warning light. Engine power is reduced, and I get smoke and a strong exhaust smell when accelerating. I'm thinking it might be the exhaust back pressure sensor. Anyone else experienced this?

Man, that sounds familiar! I've got a Latio too, though not sure about the year. I had similar symptoms: warning light, sluggish engine, and that awful smell. Could it be the sensor? Check the exhaust system, it could be clogged.

Interesting... When you say 'similar', do you mean exactly the same symptoms with the exhaust pressure? Did it happen suddenly?

Yeah, pretty much identical. The light came on, then the power loss, and then the smell. All happened within a day or two. I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop. Best to get it sorted before it causes more damage, you know?

Thanks a lot for the advice! It was indeed the exhaust back pressure sensor as I suspected. Replaced it and it solved all the problems. Cost me 245€ at the workshop. Appreciate your help!
