Nissan Note intake air temperature sensor issue

I'm having trouble with my 2020 Nissan Note diesel. The check engine light keeps coming on, and the car feels like it has reduced engine power. A diagnostics check showed an error related to the intake air temperature sensor. Also, the engine seems to be running rougher than usual. The car has 86946 km on the clock. Could a faulty intake air temperature sensor really be the cause of all this?

Summary of the thread

A 2020 Nissan Note diesel is experiencing issues with the check engine light and reduced engine power, with diagnostics indicating a problem with the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor. The symptoms include rough engine performance and sluggishness. A faulty IAT sensor is identified as a likely cause, and replacing it is suggested as a solution. After replacement, the symptoms are resolved, confirming the sensor as the issue.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my Note, though mine's a bit older. Check engine light, sluggish performance, the whole shebang. Did the error code specifically point to the IAT sensor? What readings are you getting from it?

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, the error code definitely mentioned the intake air temperature sensor. I'm not sure about the exact readings, I just saw the error message. Did replacing the IAT sensor fix the problem for you?

Yep, replacing the IAT sensor sorted it right out! All the symptoms you described were exactly what I experienced. Given your mileage and the error code, it's highly likely the sensor is the culprit. Unless you're comfortable doing it yourself, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop to get it checked and replaced. It's a pretty straightforward job for them.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I'll book it in at the garage. It ended up costing 155€ and all the symptoms are now gone. Fingers crossed, that's the end of it!
