Nissan Note wiper failure

My 2015 Nissan Note with a diesel engine has an issue. The windshield wipers have completely stopped working. I've scanned it and there's an error code stored, but the wipers are just dead. I've checked the fuses and they are all good. Could it be the wiper switch itself? I'm thinking maybe a dodgy connection somewhere, like a frayed wire or a loose plug. Has anyone else had this happen?

Summary of the thread

A 2015 Nissan Note experienced a complete failure of the windshield wipers, despite all fuses being intact. The issue was suspected to be related to the wiper switch or a faulty connection, such as a frayed wire or loose plug. A similar case suggested checking the wiring harness at the wiper motor, where a corroded connector was found to be the cause. Cleaning and replacing the connector resolved the problem.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds familiar! I have a Note too, and I had a similar wiper problem a while back. Did you check the wiring harness where it connects to the wiper motor? In my case, it turned out to be a corroded connector. It was causing all sorts of weirdness, like the wipers only working on high speed or not at all. Does your turn signal work properly?

Interesting! I haven't specifically looked at the wiper motor connector yet, I'll check it now. But what's the turn signal got to do with it? Are they somehow linked in the wiring?

Yeah, on some models, the wiper stalk and turn signal share a common ground or wiring loom. A fault in one can sometimes affect the other. But if your turn signals are fine, it's probably more likely to be the connector at the wiper motor, or even the wiper motor itself. If you are not confident, take it to the workshop.

You nailed it! It was a corroded connector at the wiper motor, just like you said! Cleaning it fixed everything. I am not confident with electrics, so I took it to the workshop. They replaced the connector and charged me 95€. Thanks a million for pointing me in the right direction!
