Nissan Serena NOx Sensor Exhaust Leak
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Nissan Serena exhibited a check engine light with a NOx sensor failure and an exhaust leak. The initial inspection showed no visible issues with the sensor connections. A similar past experience suggested that a faulty connection could be the cause. The problem was resolved by a workshop, confirming a defective cable connection as the root issue.

The leak isn't too loud, just a faint smell. You had the same NOx sensor issue and exhaust leak?

Yep, same NOx sensor and exhaust smell! Turned out to be a faulty connection, just like the mechanic said it could be. Honestly, save yourself the headache and get it checked by a workshop, they'll sort it out quick.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to the workshop, and you were right - the cable connection was defective. Cost me 95€ to fix. Appreciate the help!

Hey! I had something similar with my Serena. Drove me nuts! Was the exhaust leak noticeable, like super loud or just a whiff? I'm thinking maybe a dodgy sensor, but a leak could mess things up too. Does it smell different than usual?
