Thanks for the quick reply! How did you diagnose the faulty coil pack and worn spark plugs? Did you use any specific tools or procedures? Were there any other indicators that pointed towards the coil pack and spark plugs?

Certainly! I initially suspected the coil packs because the engine misfire seemed to be isolated to one cylinder. A mechanic friend suggested I try swapping the coil packs between cylinders to see if the misfire followed the coil. When it did, that confirmed the bad coil pack. As for the spark plugs, they were visibly worn when I pulled them out – the electrodes were rounded and the gap was way off. Honestly, unless you're comfortable doing that kind of diagnostics yourself, I'd recommend taking it to a trusted workshop. They can pinpoint the problem accurately. It's better than throwing parts at it and hoping something sticks!

I appreciate the detailed explanation. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was a defective ignition coil. The repair, including the replacement of the faulty coil, was about 95€. The car is now running smoothly, and the symptoms are gone. Thanks again!

Greetings! I own a Sunny as well, though not the same year. Your symptoms sound awfully familiar. I experienced almost the exact same issues – rough idling, stalling, the check engine light popping on, and that awful jerking! It drove me nuts. Have you tried checking the spark plugs in addition to the coil packs? That might give you a clearer picture of what's going on. In my case, it turned out to be a combination of a bad coil pack and worn spark plugs. It might be worth investigating.
