Noah Crankshaft Sensor Error

I've got a 2014 Toyota Noah hybrid with about 92k km on the clock. Recently, the check engine light came on. I'm also experiencing reduced engine power, poor response, and higher fuel consumption. I ran a diagnostic and it's showing a 'crankshaft to camshaft reference value' error. I'm suspecting a defective crankshaft sensor, could that be it?

I had a similar issue with my Noah. Same symptoms with the engine light and all. I initially thought it was the timing belt, but did you check the crank sensor wiring? Any signs of damage or corrosion?

Thanks for the tip! I'll check the wiring for damage or corrosion. Did replacing the sensor fix the problem for you, or did you have to do something else?

I didn't want to mess with it too much, so I took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the crank sensor and replaced it. Definitely get it checked out by a professional if you're not comfortable doing it yourself.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I'll take it to a local mechanic. It looks like the repair, including the sensor and labor, will be around 340€. Hopefully, that fixes it!
