Note automatic transmission shifting issues
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Nissan Note owner experienced unusual shifting issues, with the transmission indicator light on and occasional emergency mode activation. The error code indicated undervoltage, which could affect electronic control. A suggestion was made to check the transmission fluid, as old or low fluid might cause such problems. After a professional inspection, the transmission fluid was found to be worn out, and a flush and replacement resolved the shifting issues.

Thanks for the response. I'm uncertain when the transmission fluid was last flushed; I'll need to check the service records. Given the symptoms and the error code suggesting undervoltage, could that make the transmission performance worse?

Undervoltage could mess with the electronic control of the transmission. It’s like trying to control a robot with dying batteries – things get erratic. Given all the symptoms, it's best to get it checked by a professional rather than risking further damage.

I appreciate the advice. The mechanic confirmed that the transmission oil was worn out. They performed a transmission flush and replaced the fluid for 240€. The shifting issues are resolved, and the transmission is now functioning as expected. Thanks again for your support!

I had similar symptoms on my Note. The gearbox was acting like it had a mind of its own. Is the transmission fluid old? When was it last flushed? If the fluid is dirty or low, it could cause the problems you're describing. It’s like trying to run a marathon in flip-flops – not ideal.
