NX Hybrid Misfire
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Lexus NX hybrid was experiencing rough running, a check engine light, and jerking upon acceleration, indicating reduced power. The suspected cause was combustion misfires, potentially due to a defective injection valve or injector. Error codes confirmed misfires in multiple cylinders, leading to a diagnosis of a faulty fuel injector. After replacing the injector, the vehicle's performance improved, resolving the issue.

I did have the error codes read, and they pointed towards misfires in multiple cylinders. The mechanic seems certain that the fuel injectors are the culprit, but replacing them all is quite the undertaking. Was your issue definitively traced back to the fuel injectors as well, or did it turn out to be something else entirely? I'm trying to avoid unnecessary costs.

Yes, the error codes are key. In my case, it was eventually traced back to a faulty fuel injector. It's probably best to take it to a trustworthy workshop to have it checked professionally. These modern engines can be complex, and you don't want to do further damage. I'm not a mechanic but I would definitely recommend you get it looked at by one. They can check fuel pressure and do a leak-down test to see if the injectors are the issue.

A visit to a reputable workshop was indeed the most prudent course of action. The final diagnosis confirmed the defective fuel injector, and the total repair amounted to 515€. The car is now running smoothly again. Thanks again for sharing your experience; it provided me with the confidence to proceed with the necessary repairs.

I also own an NX. I had very similar symptoms a while back: rough idle, check engine light, and jerking when accelerating. I initially suspected the fuel pump, but that wasn't it. It could be a combustion misfire. Have you had the error codes read? That might give you a clearer direction.
