NX transfer case oil wear fault

I've got an NX too, and that sounds familiar. Is it leaking any oil? When was the last time you had the gear oil or transfer fluid changed? Could be something as simple as low fluid.

No visible oil leakage. I haven't touched the transfer case oil since I bought it. I was planning to do an oil change, but could this be the only problem? Is the oil change really gonna fix defective gears?

Right, no leakage is good, but old fluid can still cause problems. Honestly, if the gears are truly defective, an oil change won't fix that. I'd get it checked out at a workshop to confirm, but it does sound like it could be a similar issue I had. Ended up costing around 330€ to sort it.

Thanks! I really appreciate the advice. I went to the workshop, and you were spot on. Turns out the gears in the transfer case were defective. They're getting it sorted now. Costing me about 330€ too!
