Odyssey key fob battery issue

Hi, I have a 2012 Honda Odyssey with a gasoline engine. I'm getting a 'key battery low' warning. Now the keyless access no longer works, and there's an error stored. Unlocking and locking don't work properly anymore. I'm assuming the key fob battery is dead. Anyone else had this?

Summary of the thread

A 2012 Honda Odyssey owner experienced a 'key battery low' warning, leading to keyless access issues and an error message. The problem was attributed to a dead key fob battery, which initially showed symptoms of reduced range. Replacing the battery resolved the issue, although another user suggested that intermittent failures might still occur, recommending a workshop check if problems persist.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I have an Odyssey too, although I don't know the exact year, and I had a similar issue not too long ago. Before the key completely died, the range became extremely limited. I practically had to be touching the door handle for it to work. Was this the case for you too?

Yes, that's exactly what happened! The range got worse and worse over a few weeks. Did replacing the battery fix it for you?

It did temporarily alleviate some of the symptoms, but I still experienced intermittent failures. I'd suggest getting the key fob checked out at a workshop.

Thanks for the info! I replaced the battery, and that seems to have fixed the problem. Total cost was 37€ for the battery. Hopefully, it lasts.
