Odyssey NOx Catalyst Exhaust Leak
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Honda Odyssey exhibited a check engine light with an error indicating NOx storage catalyst aging, alongside an exhaust leak. This issue raised concerns about fuel efficiency and air quality. A similar case suggested that the problem might stem from a crack in the exhaust manifold, leading to a leak before the catalyst. The recommended solution was a thorough inspection of the exhaust system, which confirmed the leak and resolved the issue.

Actually, now that you mention it, fuel efficiency seems to have decreased slightly over the past few weeks. The engine performance is stable, no misfires. Was your issue eventually related to nitrogen oxides or the catalyst itself?

In my case, it turned out to be a small crack in the exhaust manifold, leading to a leak before the catalyst. The error codes were misleading. I'd recommend taking your Odyssey to a trusted workshop for a thorough inspection of the exhaust system. It could save you a lot of unnecessary component swapping.

I followed your suggestion and visited a reputable workshop. There was a leak in the exhaust system, which caused the error. The repair cost 265€. Thank you again!

I also own an Odyssey, although not the same year. I had similar symptoms last year: check engine light, strange error codes, and a faint exhaust smell. My mechanic suspected an issue with the exhaust system, possibly a leak. Did you notice any change in engine performance or fuel consumption?
