Oil level sensor error
Summary of the thread
A 1999 Renault Spider displayed an oil level sensor error on the dashboard, despite the oil level appearing normal. The issue was suspected to be a faulty sensor or connection. A suggestion was made to check the cable or plug connection to the sensor near the oil filter. After attempting to fix it by adjusting the connection without success, a workshop confirmed a faulty connection to the oil level sensor, which was then repaired.

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly is that cable/plug located? I'm not exactly a mechanic, so a bit more detail would be amazing. Is it easy to get to?

It's on the engine block, near the oil filter. Should be a single wire connector. If wiggling doesn't fix it, you'll probably need a workshop to diagnose it properly. No biggie, though.

Thanks so much! I wiggled the connector like you said and no luck, the error kept coming back. Took it to a workshop, and you were spot on – it was a faulty connection to the oil level sensor. Cost me 95€ to sort out. Cheers for the help!

Sounds familiar. I had something similar on my Spider. Suspect the cable or plug connection to the sensor itself. Give them a wiggle and see if it changes anything.
