Oil Pressure Warning Light

Thank you for sharing your experience. I appreciate the analogy; it helped me understand the seriousness of the warning. I must admit, with my busy schedule, I may have slightly exceeded the recommended maintenance interval. Could an overdue oil change really lead to oil contamination and trigger the pressure warning light? How long overdue was yours when you experienced the problem?

Yes, in my case, the overdue oil change was indeed the culprit. Think of it as neglecting to water a plant. It may survive for a while, but eventually, it'll show signs of stress. My delay wasn't extreme – perhaps a few thousand kilometers over the limit. However, I would strongly suggest taking your Espace to a trusted workshop. They can properly assess the oil and determine if a simple oil change is sufficient or if further inspection is necessary.

I followed your advice and took my Espace to the workshop. You were right; it was indeed due to the delayed oil change. The mechanic confirmed the oil was contaminated, and a simple oil and filter change rectified the issue. The total cost was 165€. Thank you so much for your insight; you potentially saved me from a much more expensive repair!

I had a similar issue with my Espace, though I can't remember the exact mileage. That oil pressure warning light is like a persistent cough - you can't ignore it. In my case, it turned out to be related to maintenance. Has the vehicle had a recent oil change? If not, that could be a potential cause for concern.
