Summary of the thread
A 2022 Chevrolet Onix experienced an electronic parking brake failure, with the handbrake not engaging and a warning light on the speedometer. Initial checks showed no blown fuses, suggesting a more complex issue. The problem was identified as a defective electric motor in the brake calliper, which was confirmed and replaced at a workshop.

Thanks for the quick reply! I checked the fuses, and they all seem to be fine. What else could it be? Someone suggested it might be the motor in the brake calliper. Is that even a thing? Could that stop the whole system from working?

Yes, the electric motor in the brake calliper being defective is a likely cause for your symptoms. The electronic parking brake system relies on these motors to engage and disengage the brake. Since the fuses are okay, I recommend taking your Chevrolet Onix to a qualified workshop for a brake diagnostics. The eventual repair cost could be around 505€.

Thanks a lot for the info! I took it to the shop, and you were right – it was the electric motor in the brake calliper. They're replacing it now. I appreciate the help!

It sounds like you have an electronic brake malfunction. The error code and warning light, combined with the non-functional handbrake, point to a more serious issue than just a sensor. Have you checked the fuse box for any blown fuses related to the braking system?
