Opel Mokka air conditioning problems that the air conditioning does not come on

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my 2012 Opel Mokka (gasoline, 104,567 km). The air conditioning doesn't cool and heat properly, the A/C system sometimes doesn't come on at all and often only warm air comes out. Have any of you had similar experiences with this model? What was your experience with repairing the A/C system and can you recommend a good mechanic? Thank you!

Summary of the thread

The 2012 Opel Mokka is experiencing air conditioning issues where the system doesn't cool or heat properly, sometimes not coming on at all, and often only blowing warm air. A similar issue was resolved in a 2015 Opel Astra by replacing defective valves in the air conditioning system, a known problem in some Opel models. The suggested solution is to visit an authorized Opel workshop to diagnose and potentially fix the issue, possibly under a goodwill arrangement.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2015 Opel Astra. In my case, it was due to defective individual valves in the air conditioning system. The symptoms were pretty similar - the A/C system sometimes didn't come on at all and mostly only warm air came out. At the garage, they replaced the defective valves. The mechanic said that it was a known problem with some Opel models, but nothing that couldn't be fixed. It's a bit more complex, but definitely doable. The repair completely fixed the problem and the air conditioning has worked perfectly ever since. If you are looking for a good mechanic, I would suggest looking for an authorized Opel workshop in your area. They know best about such specific problems. Good luck!

Hey, thanks for your reply! That sounds pretty similar to the problem with my Mokka. Do you remember how much the repair cost and whether anything else has happened with the air conditioning since then? Best regards!

Hey, sure, you're welcome! I can understand how annoying that can be. So, after my experience, I went back to the garage and they completely fixed the defect in the air conditioning system. They solved the problem with the defective valves with a simple replacement. The good news: it didn't cost anything, i.e. €0! I was lucky because it was still covered by a goodwill arrangement. Since then, my air conditioning has been running without any problems - cooling and heating as it should. So, if you have similar symptoms, I would really recommend that you visit an authorized workshop and ask whether this is also covered by a goodwill arrangement. Good luck and keep us up to date! Best regards!

Hey, wow, that sounds really great that it was so uncomplicated for you and didn't cost anything! Of course I hope the same for my Mokka. I will definitely go to an authorized Opel workshop and ask if this is also covered by goodwill. It would of course be brilliant if it were that easy to fix! I hope that my air conditioning will be working properly again soon. I'll definitely keep you posted on how it went and whether everything went so smoothly for me too. Thanks again for the information! Best regards!
