Optra engine stalls after fuel filter change
Summary of the thread
The 2017 Chevrolet Optra experienced engine stalling and reduced power after a fuel filter change, with the check engine light illuminated. The issue was suspected to be related to the fuel pump or pressure regulator. It was suggested that the problem might be due to a pressure drop or a stored error code from the filter change. Ultimately, the issue was identified as a faulty fuel pressure regulator, which was replaced, resolving the problem.

Thanks for the reply! I'm no expert on the fuel system myself. How would I check the fuel pressure regulator? And what do you mean by 'stored error entry'?

I'm not an expert either, so don't take my word for it. I think going to a mechanic is a good idea. 'Stored error entry' means that the check engine light might be on just because of a logged code from the filter change; I'd suggest you verify the fuel pressure regulator, or even better, take it to the workshop and have a mechanic check it out

It WAS the fuel pressure regulator, just like you suspected. Likely caused by a silly error when I changed the fuel filter. The workshop replaced it, and the total cost was only 45€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

I had something similar happen with my Chevrolet, could have been the fuel pressure regulator as well. Does it feel like a pressure drop, or rough idle? After changing the fuel filter, the check engine light might just be a stored error entry.
