Overheating and check engine display problems with the Renault Arkana Hybrid 2021

Hey guys, I urgently need your advice. I drive a Renault Arkana Hybrid from 2021 with just under 69,000 km on the clock. Recently I've had a few worrying symptoms: Overheating and the check engine light is on. I suspect it could be the coolant temperature sensor. Have any of you ever had similar problems? And what are your experiences with the workshop? I didn't have such a great experience last time... Thanks in advance!

Hi, I also have a Renault, only a Clio from 2018. I had exactly the same thing, overheating and the check engine light came on. The garage at the time said it was a faulty engine control unit. It was quite a job to fix it. Unfortunately, I also realized at the time that this was no minor fault. I hope that's not the case with you, because if it's the coolant temperature sensor, it would probably be cheaper to repair. You'd better get ready for a visit to the workshop!

Hi, oh dear, that sounds like quite an odyssey with your Clio. You say it was a big job to fix that faulty engine control unit. Do you happen to remember what you had to pay for it? And has anything else given up the ghost since then? I'm afraid I've got a visit to the workshop ahead of me... thanks for your support!

Hey, yes, you said it, it really was an odyssey with my Clio. I had to dig deep into my pockets for the defective engine control unit - to be precise, it cost me 1000 euros. That was a real shock, I tell you! However, the good news is that since the coolant temperature sensor was faulty and this was fixed in the workshop, nothing else has broken down. So, take courage and face the music in the workshop. Hopefully it will cost you less than it did me. Keep your fingers crossed, buddy!

Hello, a thousand euros?! My goodness, that really is a shock, but I'm glad to hear that you haven't had any more problems since then. I sincerely hope that it stays with the coolant temperature sensor and that I don't have to spend that kind of money. However, your words give me some courage. I'll arm myself and go to the workshop. Thank you for your frank and encouraging words. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
