Overheating problem and hot air flow in the Renault Talisman

Hi everyone, I own a 2018 Renault Talisman with a diesel engine and 140,000 km. I'm experiencing some problems with the climate control system and overheating. In particular, I notice that a flow of hot air comes out from under the steering wheel, at foot level, even with the climate control off and the vents closed. This is particularly annoying in the summer. When I turn on the climate control, the problem seems to lessen. I noticed a hot pipe under the dashboard, from which the heat seems to originate, and the lower part of the dashboard gets hot, causing a flow of heat. Furthermore, the problem seems to worsen when I'm on a straight road at speed. Has anyone had similar experiences or suggestions on how to solve this problem?

Summary of the thread

A 2018 Renault Talisman owner is experiencing an overheating issue and unwanted hot air flow from under the steering wheel, even with the climate control off. The problem seems to originate from a hot pipe under the dashboard, worsening at higher speeds. A suggested cause is a malfunctioning heater control valve that might be stuck open, allowing hot coolant to flow into the heater core. Inspecting the valve for damage or leaks and consulting a mechanic for further diagnosis is recommended.

Check if the heater control valve is functioning properly, as it might be stuck open, allowing hot coolant to flow into the heater core even when the climate control is off. This could cause the heat you're experiencing. Inspect the valve for any visible damage or leaks. If you're unsure, it might be best to have a mechanic take a look, especially since this involves the cooling system. Let me know how it goes or if you have any other questions!

Heating control valve? It's something that definitely needs to be seen by a competent mechanic. I tried to inspect below the pedal area towards the center, I didn't notice any leaks.. The air conditioner seems to work correctly, as soon as you turn it on, the Arctic arrives immediately

Since the air conditioner is working well, another possibility is that the blend door actuator might be malfunctioning, causing it to not fully close the path to the heater core. This can allow hot air to seep through. Check if you hear any unusual noises when adjusting the temperature settings, which could indicate an issue with the actuator. If you're not comfortable checking this, it's advisable to have a mechanic inspect it. Let me know if you need further assistance or if you have any questions!
