Oxygen Sensor Concerns in Tarraco Diesel

I have a 2020 Seat Tarraco with a diesel engine and about 192887 km on it. I suspect I have oxygen sensor issues. The check engine light is illuminated, and I also noticed my fuel consumption is higher than usual. Error memory mentions oxygen sensor heater failure. Could a defective cable or plug connection be the culprit? I read that this could impact the air-fuel ratio.

I have a Seat Ateca, same engine type, and had a similar issue a while back. The malfunction indicator was constantly on, and the vehicle emissions seemed off. Turned out to be a faulty oxygen sensor, specifically the heater element within it. Have you checked the cable connections and the plug? That's what caused my problem originally.

So, if I understand correctly, the oxygen sensor was the source of the problem and the light only turned on because of a loose connection? Did you fix it yourself or did you take it to the workshop?

Yes, the oxygen sensor's heater element was the core issue, but the light triggered, in my case, due to a poor connection. Though checking the connection is simple, replacing the sensor requires specific tools. I ended up going to a workshop. The eventual repair cost was 95€.

Right, that confirms my suspicions. I will take it to the shop as you did. Thanks for sharing your experience.
