Palio AC Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Fiat Palio diesel with 205,138 km is experiencing an AC failure, where the system doesn't cool or switch on, and a warning light is illuminated. The issue might be due to a defective AC control unit, as suggested by an error stored in the memory. Another individual with similar symptoms, including the warning light and non-engaging AC, resolved the issue by replacing the AC compressor, suggesting this as a potential solution.

Thanks! No visible refrigerant leak that I could detect. The mechanic mentioned the AC compressor not engaging. Did you have the same symptoms, AC not engaging and the warning light?

Yup, exact same symptoms. Light came on, AC wouldn't kick on, total failure. I'd bet you need a new AC compressor. Get it checked at a workshop. I needed to pay 980€ for a full replacement.

Thanks for confirming and sharing your experience. I'll take it to a workshop. It sounds like it's probably the AC control unit. At least I have an idea of what to expect now!

Hey, I had something similar happen in my Palio. AC just quit. Was there any refrigerant leak or other weirdness beforehand?
